Meet the Founder- Mari
It started with a late-night idea in a cabin in Kōkeʻe.
I’ve trained for disasters and responded to real ones — I have a degree in emergency and disaster management and a certification in critical infrastructure response. I’m also a veteran, and a mom. Life moves fast on the islands — and I wanted something that felt like someone thought of me.
I wanted something practical—and comforting.
Something with a bar of soap that smelled like home.
Something simple I could reach for when the day felt heavy.
Pono + Nohea is for the women who think ahead, who stay grounded, and who pray even when things feel uncertain.
It’s not about panic. It’s about peace.

The Nohea logo outlines the two islands I grew up seeing across the bay — the ones I greeted barefoot each morning as a child. They are home. This part of the brand is rooted in stillness, salt air, and the kind of beauty that doesn’t ask to be seen — it just is.

The Nā Mākua Wahine Fund was created to honor them.
Inspired by Abigail Naluai 'Gramma Abby', and the name she prayed over me, this fund gifts Kōkua Kits to women in Hawaiʻi whose lives reflect strength, service, and aloha.
